Diabetic Foot Assessments
This includes checking the blood flow and the nervous system pathways to the feet. We also check for diabetic complications arising in the feet, so we can prevent infections and ulcerations.
Conservative Foot Care
- Nail care to prevent ingrowing nails
- Callous and corn removal
- Wart (verruca) treatments
Foot Mobilisation Therapy (FMT)
FMT targets joins of your foot and ankle which are stiff, poorly aligned or lacking normal movement, and aims to restore foot function. This involves gentle joint mobilisation and manipulation in conjunction with foot exercises. Many foot problems benefit from FMT i.e. ankle stiffness, heel pain, midfoot arthritis, bunions, hammer toe, and lots more. It is an alternative treatment to orthotic therapy.
Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave Therapy involves a pressure wave which carries high energy to chronic muscular-skeletal conditions. The energy promotes regeneration and repair including:
- Release of trigger points in tight muscles
- Helps breakdown calcification i.e. heel spurs
- Stimulation of collagen production and blood vessel formation
- Breaks down scar tissue
Orthotic Therapy
Orthotics are shoe inserts which comfortably align, cushion and improve the function of your feet. This can be used to correct issues in your feet, ankles, legs and lower back. The most common being plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis, foot and knee osteoarthritis, children with pigeon toes, ankle and heel pain, and much more.
We have a large range of orthotics, from pre-fabricated to 3D scanned custom made.
Children’s feet
Early intervention during a child’s growth and development can prevent chronic alignment and joint issues later in life. If your child complains of foot or leg pain, trips regularly, or has pigeon toes or knocked knees, contact Hinterland Foot Clinic for a consultation.
